The detail
How it works
A hyaluronic acid gel is placed in small, precise amounts using a needle or cannula. Numbing cream is applied first, and most dermal fillers contain local anaesthetic.
When you'll see it
Immediately, though swelling means the true result appears at around two weeks.
How long it lasts
Nine to twelve months for most people, depending on the product and your metabolism.
Downtime
Expect swelling for two to three days and possible bruising. Plan around any event by at least two weeks.
